About Success On The Spectrum McKinney.

A locally owned center on West University Drive, running a national clinical model that exists because one mother could not find what she wanted for her own daughter.

Where the model came from

Houston, 2015.

Success On The Spectrum® was founded by Nichole Daher, an autism parent. The network tells that story in full on the national site. What it means in McKinney is a building set up around the same commitments: rigorous science, a building children actually enjoy being in, trips out into the real world, serious safety practice, and parents let all the way in rather than kept in a waiting room.

It began as one center for one child and grew into a national network. Success On The Spectrum publishes its own account of that history, the size of the network and its affiliations, and the national site is the source for all of it. What matters locally is simpler: this McKinney center is independently owned, and it was set up around the same idea. That last fact explains more about the design of this building than anything else on this page.

What we hold ourselves to

The standards behind an ordinary Tuesday.

A written standard of practice

SOS maintains a network-wide manual of ABA best practice, built on current evidence and revised as the research moves. We are not each inventing our own version of this.

Supervision that is genuinely weekly

A Board Certified Behavior Analyst oversees your child's program every week and trains the technicians who deliver it. Weekly means weekly.

Nothing happens behind a closed door

A viewing room you can use unannounced, cameras throughout the building, and your own CentralReach login for progress data, secure messages and invoices.

Play is the method

Skills get taught inside games, not drilled across a table. What we are aiming at is a child with self-control, independence and a decent opinion of themselves, not one who complies quietly.

Certified, and kept current

Staff hold CPR and Safety-Care certification, and sit down for training every single week. Skills go stale otherwise.

Open all year

No summer shutdown and ten holiday closures. Progress made in May should not have to be re-earned in August.

Our purpose

We are aiming at an adult life, not a treatment plan.

We work one-to-one with children who are not learning the way their classmates do, and we teach the practical skills that decide how much of their own life they will be able to run as adults.

Everything else on this site (the crews, the rooms, the data, the authorizations, the paperwork) exists to serve that sentence. If a goal in your child's plan does not obviously connect to it, ask us why it is in there. It is a fair question and we should have a good answer.

Inclusion

Who we serve, and who we hire.

SOS McKinney is an equal opportunity employer, and everyone working at this center is employed by this independently owned location rather than by the network. We work to be a place where different backgrounds and viewpoints are genuinely welcome. That means equal opportunity in hiring, no tolerance for discrimination, and taking workplace safety seriously rather than putting it on a poster.

Work with us

We hire behavior technicians, BCBAs, speech-language pathologists and occupational therapists. If you want real supervision, real training and a caseload that lets you think we would like to hear from you.

Hold us to it. There is a provider comparison checklist on the national site. Run it on us and on everyone else you are considering, and if somebody else answers it better for your child, go there. Download the checklist ↗
